Joe Colombo

Started the American-Italian Civil Rights League. This spawned Italian-American Unity day in Columbus Circle in Manhattan. The event was intended to unite Italians against the supposed stereo-types claiming they were all mafioso's.

Joe was, in fact, a major mafioso, and he was whacked on the second annual Italian-American Unity Day.

Carlo Gambino hired Jerome A. Johnson, a young black gangster, to walk up onto the speakers' platform and shoot Joe in the head. Jerome was subsequently shot as well.
