1960 Meets Judith Campbell Exner, Las Vegas NV. They began a multi-year affair, with many visits by Exner to the White House. "The feeling that I was there to [orally] service him really began to trouble me." Judith had later affairs with mobster Sam Giancana, Tony Bennett, Eddie Fisher, etc.
8 Nov 1960 Elected first Catholic President of the United States, defeating Richard M. Nixon.
25 Nov 1960 Son, John F. Kennedy Jr., born.
11 Dec 1960 In Palm Beach, Florida, retired postmaster Richard Pavlick chooses at the last moment not to ram John F. Kennedy's car and detonate his seven sticks of dynamite. Pavlick later explains that it was out of concern for the President-elect's family: "I did not wish to harm her or the children... I decided to get him at the church or someplace later."
19 Jan 1961 Inaugural ball held, Washington DC. Frank Sinatra sings Camelot.
1961 Begins an affair with Marilyn Monroe.
21 May 1962 Marilyn Monroe: Happy Birthday, Mister President.
1962 Mary Pinchot Meyer sleeps with Kennedy in the White House. They smoke Marijuana together there.
c. Jul 1963 Shakes hands with a teenaged Bill Clinton in the Rose Garden.
20 Nov 1963 Rose Cheramie reports to the Louisiana State Police that Kennedy's impending assassination is "common knowledge" among the Mafia. Lt. Francis Fruge takes Cheramie's call, while she was hospitalized for an accident at Moosa Memorial Hospital in Eunice, LA.
22 Nov 1963 Kennedy assassinated, in Dallas. Fr. Oscar Huber administers last rites, and is quoted by wire service UPI as saying "He's dead, all right." Lee Harvey Oswald captured hours later.
Oct 1964 Mary Pinchot Meyer murdered.
22 Oct 1968 Aristotle Onassis marries Kennedy's widow, Jackie Kennedy.
30 Aug 1970 Abraham Zapruder dies of stomach cancer in Dallas.
20 May 1994 Kennedy's widow, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, dies of non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
23 Nov 1998 The nonprofit Assassination Archives and Research Center files suit in Federal court to prevent the government from its plan to purchase the Zapruder Film while not acquiring the copyright. The suit also claims the Zapruder family's copyright on the film is invalid.
25 Sep 1999 Judith Campbell Exner dies of cancer.
Jul 2002 Kennedy's PT-109 is located by Robert Ballard and a National Geographic film crew.
